Dear Parents,

We encourage you to make a difference in the governance of our school by participating in this year’s School Site Council (SSC) / English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC).  The ELAC is an advisory committee required by the California Education Code [EC] 52176 [b] and directed by LAUSD policy.

California Education Code 52176[b] states that each school with 21 or more English learner (EL) students must establish an ELAC. The ELAC advises in the development of a site plan for English learners and submitting the plan to the School Site Council for consideration of inclusion in the School Plan for Student Achievement. The ELAC consists of parents or legal guardians, not employed by LAUSD. The English Learner Advisory Committee provides advice to the School Site Council on all programs related to English Learner students.

We will hold orientation/election for all who are interested in participating in School Site Council (SSC) or English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC).
